A super over sized stepped stud from 12mm to 8mm to repair a damaged crankcase side 8mm thread that has been over tapped out.

If the thread has gone and is too big to fit a Timesert or helicoil, here is a simple way to repair the casing.

Drill the casing to 10.7mm then tap out the casing to 12 x 1.5mm to the correct depth then loctite and screw the stud into place.

A much cheaper stronger repair.
