Lambretta Con rod only, Yamaha, 110 x 16mm

MBL0739

This con rod is mostly used to upgrade the crank for use in high powered engines.

It is 3mm longer than a standard rod so you generally need to use a 3mm pack plate or there abouts.

This is the preferred con rod in our MB Race-Tour crank shafts and engine rebuilds.

Frank on 03 Oct 2009 asked "I have a question about "Con rod, Yamaha 110 x 16mm" Hi Mark, just out of curiosity instead of machining the webs, could this difference taken off the rod?"

MB Scooters Ltd replied: Yes you could do this but there are not any really good big end bearings to suit. If you machine the webs and use an oversize crank pin and correct shims and have a professional rebuild the crank it should be ok. But having done hundreds and hundreds of these conversions I would save your time and effort and go straight for a Race-Tour crankshaft. Long term it would be more beneficial.

Shaun d on 21 Jan 2009 asked "I have a question about "Con rod Yamaha 110 x 16mm" hi there im intresdid in buying this rod do you have to do any mods to fit it .also do i have to have shims or not and friend of mine bought one and has not fitted the shims but done the piston instead hope you can advise me so i know what to order the parts"

MB Scooters Ltd replied: To do the conversion correctly, you need to machine both crank webs, use this rod with our racing big end bearing, use 2 x 1mm shims, rebuild and true the crankshaft.

To be honest look at our Race Tour cranks and have it all done for you.
