Horst on 06 Jan 2009 asked "I have a pretty worn out TS1 with massive loss of the nicasil plating around the stud area. The barrel is marked as a grade "B". Do i have to do a rebore to 70.5 or can i use size 70B again in the proces of replating?"

MB Scooters Ltd replied: There are a few choices:

You can strip the plating and rebore it to 705mm or 71mm and re-plate it to size.

Or if there isn't much damage you can just have it re-plated to a standard piston, aim to use a 'A' or 'B' piston on a re-plate then at a later date choose a 'C' or 'D' piston if there is any wear to the bore.
